Well here is another wonderful Vegas vacation.  I have
really lagged in keeping up with the Blog details.

Our Southwest flight was excellent as usual.  No issues with the wheelchair.  There is a LOT of abuse on this airline with
"disabled" passengers.  So much so that it is getting out of hand.  I completely understand that some people may need
the assistance to get from check in to the gate.  When I see
the same people bolt after we land, I consider that abuse and unfair to other passengers.

Anyhow...our stays have included - Lake George Econolodge, La Quinta in Albany, Main Street Station, Aquarius, Gold Coast and soon Sam's Town.

We met Gary for lunch at Ping Pang Pong and shared food stories along with restaurant referrals and general catch up chat.  Gary is a phenomenal source for Vegas as he is an
MGM employee and gate keeper for KA.

One of the best comedy shows I have ever seen was Gallagher
at the Tropicana.  He was WAY more cerebral than I imagined.  He is bordering on brilliant.  We both had good
belly laughs from his show along with having our photo
taken with him prior to the performance.

Burkes in Laughlin scored us some shoe deals (see above pic).
Due to this Cushing Syndrome, I gave myself a break and got a pair of size 10 sneakers.  The extra space is heavenly.  The
sandals are for Cor and Mom.  All of the pairs totalled less
than six bucks.

Gaming isn't in our favor that is for sure.  At this point going
home even would be a treat.  Anything can happen.  Yesterday
we did really well at Silverton playing 100 play VP followed
by an incredible supper at El Cortez (comped).

In an hour or so we are off to Four Kegs (Diners, Drive-ins & Dives) with Norm and Andrea.  James and I had breakfast with Carol here at the Java restaurant.

Time to hit the gym before heading out.

Heading Home

Off we go to the airport.  Time to go home.

We do have plans to come back in eight weeks though.  It will give me enough time to get a video put together and pictures posted from this trip.

$750.00 loss between the two of us, but lots
of freebies to offset that.  We did a large amount of coin in.

More later :)

Tournament

Today is VP Tournament day for James.  He's done the 9:30am session and about to do the 12:30 one.  He appears to be the youngest participant.  The winning amount is $7500.00.

Last evening we did hit Emerald Status.  We did so remarkably on single line VP with some aces of the quad variety.

Looks like we will be wrapping up the long trip ahead a few dollars or even.

Slapper Magnet

Wherever I go it seems that I am a magnet for the dreaded button slapper.  Nothing irks me more than an angry loud machine button slammer.  It has become more of a joke now.  Oh well..chalk it up with kids in the Casino, circle twirlers, people who cough and sneeze without covering, etc.  (Off the soap box now)

Cloudy here with a threat of storms.  We have plans to get our Emerald status today and chill out.  Vacation is winding down.  Yesterday was a great one as we made a bank deposit.

We have a Gold Card here at Sam's Town with a handicapped room facing the Strip.  Pretty decent actually.

A bank of progressive video poker machines are calling our name today.

Nice breakfast of fresh coffee, banana (my daily potassium) and a blueberry muffin coupled by The Young and the Restless! Life is grand!

Pool & Play

We are settled at Aliante in a great room.

Yesterday I filled up on Airborne to stay hydrated and nutrient rich. Our evening took us to SunCoast for supper and play with multi-play and the play and eat promo.  Someone (James) is thrilled to make it to a million points and doesn't want to deplete them.  So far so good!

Today we are going to hit the pool and put in a days play here in hopes of future offers.  Yesterday, we used the 24/7 gym here with views of the pool area.

Thank you Lyrica...

Royal Drought

Tomorrow we head off to the next Hotel.  Right now we
are hitting small jackpots, but are looking forward to
some Royals.

A bit more gaming here and hubby has his sights set on
meatloaf for supper here.  Not sure what I will have?

Big fire on Mount Charleston which is affecting air
quality here in Vegas.  We are spending lots of time
indoors and working hard to stay hydrated.

Dam

We took R&W to the Hoover Dam our way back from Laughlin.  I think everyone
should see it at least once.

The drive through Arizona was a bit longer but more scenic.  Lots of pics were snapped.

Laughlin did not have great internet or phone service, however we are now back in Vegas.

James is off to drop R&W at the airport and then pick up our laundry.  Last evening
we arranged for them to see Penn and Teller at the Rio.  She took great pictures.
I never knew Penn was SO tall.

Having coffee and looking forward to another hot day.

Today was and is another great gaming day.  We got settled on our favorite multi line machines after
I got set up with a new card under my married name.  I hit 2 Royals during our play and James
did well too.  Our afternoon ended us up $250 for the trip.  On our way back to the room we popped
into the Host room to get another Buffet comp to go with mine that came with the new sign up (Silverton - BTW).  I also have $20 in free play on top of our 21000 points run through.

In our room taking a break before we eat.

An Awesome Day

We spent the bulk of our day at the Four Queens downtown.

Finding a couple of JOB machines, I ended up playing FIVE
hours on a hundred, turning that into $300, double points (coupon
and new sign up), 10 dollars in free play, a t-shirt, deck of cards,
$40 cash back AND a Host came to my machine with a comp
to Magnolia's!

Incredible.  James and I are up just shy of a grand in comps
now with a minor $50 loss between us.

Day two and we are settled into the Silverton Casino for the night. I hit our first Royal playing 50 lines of nickle play.

We enjoyed our evening at the Gold Coast and did get in some play in the High Limits room before calling it a night around 11pm.

Continental/US Airways does not hold a candle to Southwest that is for sure.  Newark Airport is a zoo as well. We're both very reluctant to use it again even if we do have free tickets.  No snacks on the plane and we had less than lackluster help with my wheelchair and seating.  Unlike Southwest where they seemingly could not do enough.

We did our running around last night to CVS and the 99 cent store.  It saved us time today.

This morning we started our day by sharing a muffin and a fruit tray in the room before hitting the gym and pool.  I was able to do the recumbent bike and some pool exercises that my home physical therapist recommended,  Getting out of the pool was difficult for me but I did it!

I will post some photos later.  Right now James is about to do his report and enter our win/loss totals.  The Weather Network promises some HOT temperatures!

T-7

Here we go again to Las Vegas!  We fly out of Newark this time and are all set up with handicapped rooms to accommodate my wheelchair bound status.  This time next year the chair should be a passing thought, but for now it is what I need.  Last step in recovery is relearning to walk.  I have come SO FAR in such a short period of time relatively speaking.  Life has new meaning for me that is for sure.
